Endoscopic Tarsal Tunnel Release

This minimally invasive technique relieves the pressure placed on a pinched or compressed nerve which runs through the tarsal (Latin for ankle) tunnel on the inside of the ankle and down into the foot.  If the tarsal tunnel is compressed, this puts pressure on the nerve resulting in inflammation and pain. This procedure is performed via a small incision resulting in faster healing and less pain than the open technique.

Most people are eligible to have minimally invasive surgery, however it is not for everyone. Some deformities are too large to be corrected using minimally invasive techniques. A consultation with Dr. Cramer will allow you to discuss this in detail and decide which method of foot correction is appropriate for you.
